I am Kim Dormandy, the owner of Vinalhaven Island Rentals. I moved to Vinalhaven with my two sons 13 years ago. I worked on a lobster boat for 3 years, spending a part of each day hanging over the side of the boat. When the opportunity was presented to take over the rental business from former owner Captain Frank Thompson, I decided it was time to hang up the oil gear and plant my feet firmly on solid ground again. As an offshoot to the rental business, I also started Island Interiors, offering interior renovations, painting and decorating services to homeowners whose properties were showing signs of distress. This is where my passions truly lie and my talents clearly show.

The business has grown and so has the demand for vacation rentals. My darling husband, Steve Miller, has joined me in this enterprise and is now handling all rental inquiries and rental contracts, while I am more involved with the creative end of the business and decorating. When you arrive on Vinalhaven, take a right turn when leaving the ferry terminal parking lot. Go 7/10th of a mile, through town, taking a left turn onto Cottage Street.
